Write an essay debating whether or not the basic idea of the one you chose (either Utilitarianism or Kant’s ethics) is right or not, and why.

This module, we are studying two major ethical systems: Utilitarianism and Kant’s ethics. These are two very different ethical systems.
Pick one–either Utilitarianism or Kant’s ethics. Write a 2-3 page paper arguing whether or not the basic idea of the one you chose (either Utilitarianism or Kant’s ethics) is right or not, and why.
You should include concrete, real-world examples to help prove your point (to prove why Kant’s ethics or Utilitarianism are right or wrong.)
Finally, towards the end of your paper, you should briefly consider an objection to your position. In other words, you should include a paragraph that considers a different and opposed point of view. Then, respond to that objection.

Be sure that your paper also explains the main idea of the ethical system you chose–either Utilitarianism or Kant’s ethics–very early in the paper. (Otherwise, it won’t be clear when you’re saying you agree or disagree with the ethical system.).Be sure to rely on the Mogck book, Writing to Reason, which explains in lots of detail how to develop a clear and powerful argument.
